Let me begin this letter with highlights of our trip to Maui from last week.
As like last year, Rich and Leslie Goddard invited us to join them for a week in Hawaii on the island of Maui. We stayed on the top floor of Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club Resort, located in Ka’anapali, north of Lahaina.
While we played golf, Lisa and Leslie got massages, baked in the sun, and snorkeled in Napili Bay with turtles and tropical fish.
One morning we hiked the coastline along Napili and witnessed the natural beauty of the island.
Our more dressy dinner of the week was at Merriman’s Restaurant in Kapala.
A short walk along the beach took us to the Hyatt Regency Resort where we took in a dinner and Lu’au called the Drums of the Pacific.
While we waited for the Lu’au to begin, we sat next to a family from the Netherlands. And how funny to find out their name was Cornelis (Cornelius without the “u”).
My Lack of Emotion Disorder did not hold up against the comedy and magic show provided by Warren Gibson, a hilarious sleight-of-hand magician. How he was able to pull a bowling ball out of a hat, two bowling balls to be exact, was mind blowing. If you ever go to Maui, you have got to see this show.
Our vacation was a very busy vacation, although a relaxing one.
